Arenal d'en Castell Holidays

A jewel for all beach lovers, gorgeous Arenal d'en Castell borders a tremendous arch of sand in one of north Menorca's best scenario's.

Located in the region of an almost circular cove peaked by low, rocky cliffs, the beach is lengthy and wide, so there is always sufficient room. Spread your sunbathing with regular visits into the crisp, ultra azure waters, swimming or on a windsurf board or pedalo- and your day will be fulfilling.

Skirting the sands is a row of bars and cafes serving up cold drinks and delicious Spanish tapas when you're in need of refreshment. Behind the beaches, the striking contemporary resort climbs up the undulating hillside, its modernistic white-wash buildings hinting at a sugar cube amphitheatre. Meander up there to take pleasure in the horde of souvenir shops before digging into a supper of your favourite cuisine under the stars - Arenal's restaurants present such assorted treats as British pubs, tapas bars and Chinese take aways. Afterward, if you are not quite ready for turning in just yet, stop off at the late night bars to laugh and chat with newly made friends.

Throughout your holiday, do not fail to see the island's capital of Mahon with its picturesque quayside. Also make time for Cuidadela too, as this was the island's capital prior to Mahon, this remarkable town has graceful paved streets and a magnificent restaurant lined harbourside. Otherwise, relish a more rural Menorca by wandering its verdant heart and visit Fornells, a picture postcard fishing village near by.
